Seasons 1-8 see shippers placing bids on two of the shipments listed on uShip. This is a reverse auction structure. Bids are typically made with comments about the likely risk and cost and also the motivations and potential capabilities. When the time limit is over for an auction it will be assigned to the bidder with the lowest price. It is at the discretion of the client, however it could be awarded to bidders with an average rating of higher than past clients. Feedback ratings are used to break any connections between the bidders with the lowest price. Season 9 will see shippers receive their cargo from a shipping agent. Bidding isn't shown. Shippers load their cargo , and then try to get it delivered in good in good condition by the time specified by the recipient or the client. The feedback ratings of clients are shown after the loads have been delivered. Every shipper's earnings along with the expenses (fuel and labor as well as late-delivery penalties) will be displayed on the screen at the conclusion. To calculate the profit or loss the bid amount is subtracted. Sometimes, shippers decide to transport additional loads in the same journey. This money will be added to their tally. Sometimes the shipper may be incapable of completing a task due to concerns about load size/weight or road safety. Sometimes, one of the shippers will contract the help of a different shipper in order to complete a job. The shippers then decide how they will split profits. In the first eight seasons, the progress of each shipment is interspersed with hilarious criticisms from other shippers.
