Laura Vandervoort

She first made an appearance an actor in 1997, at age 13. At the age of 13, Vandervoort made her acting debut when she was 13 years old. After completing several classes and performing background work for Canadian programs like Road to Avonlea or Harriet the Spy she got her speaking role on the Canadian Kids Horror anthology Goosebumps. There were commercials followed by appearances as a guest star for guest starring roles in Mutant X, Prom Queen: The Marc Hall Story, Goosebumps, Twice in a Lifetime, Doc, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye, Troubled Waters, The Dresden Files, as well as a couple of Disney Channel original movies (Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire and Alley Cats Strike), at age 19, while at York University, where she was studying Psychology and English. Vandervoort found herself in the role of Sadie Harrison in the CTV Teen drama Instant Star, which was on for four seasons. The first movie she acted in, The Lookout, was released in the year 2006. It starred Jeff Daniels along with Matthew Goode and Isla Fischer. Vandervoort was cast on Smallville, a serial drama for The CW. Her character is Clark Kent's Kryptonian "Kara Kent" as the character who would later turn into Supergirl. In season two, she was a regular during season seven and was on the "Bloodline" episode of season eight. Then, she returned for two episodes more in the tenth and final season of Smallville. 4 After The CW and Smallville, Vandervoort shot the follow-up in the feature film Into the Blue titled Into the Blue 2: The Reef. The Jazzman is her third independently produced film. She also starred the Canadian actor Michael Ironside, who appeared in both in the second V miniseries and in the regular 1984 V series.
