Amy Smart is an American former model and actress. Growing up and being raised in California USA she started her modelling professional career in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film which was her first film role. It took some time to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller part. The transition was difficult for Amy as she had change from modeling to acting. Models aren't considered great actors and so tend to play smaller, less important roles. Amy did not give up and eventually she landed bigger parts in the movies Varsity Blues and The 70s. In 2005, she took as the lead in The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. The film was a major box office success and Amy had finally found the fame she had been seeking for more than a decade. She then went on to work in several of the most famous films including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless in which she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
