Her acting debut came in the year 1996 with The TV production Her Costly Affair. It took some time to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller role. Amy was unable to make the leap from modeling into acting, as model actors aren't generally considered good actors. They're often given small or unimportant roles. Yet, somehow Amy refused to give up and transitioned to larger roles, beginning with the show The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. The romantic comedy Just Friends, which also had Ryan Reynolds, saw her take on more prominent parts. Amy attained the fame she'd been seeking for over 10 years, when her movie just Friends debuted. She then continued to appear in several of the most famous movies, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham as well as Shameless, where she played a recognizable character.
