Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She has written fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news site and a television host author, author and philanthropist. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family at the age of 16. At Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. Her popularity as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice portal that offered critiques of the politics. The fame of Arianna helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna was famous when she decided in 2003 to stand as an independent candidate in the California Recall Election in order to succeed former Governor Davis. In addition, she led a Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. Forbes declared her to be the "most influential female" in the media industry and ranked her 12th. Guardian placed her on their list of the 100 most influential media people in 2009. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as head of its media division, which also included other AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter of Konstantinos the manager's advisor as well as journalist. Although she was a close friend to her father, it was her relationship with her mother that formed her entire life. Even during her formative years, she exhibited leadership skills for which her name is still well-known. At the age of 16, she returned to the UK to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. While in college and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the college debating societies where she eventually became its first female and foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with a degree in Economics. The career of a journalist and television host started after her graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an episode of Face the music.
