Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who was able to transcend from the country genre to mainstream pop culture and become an iconic figure in the world of pop. The singer also swept the entire globe in the process. Swift dropped country as if it was another layer, showing that she's perhaps the best pop-singer/songwriter in her generation. A person who has the ability to tap into the current zeitgeist and make it personal, and sing in the other direction. Her talents are evident in some of her earliest tracks, notably the Neodue Tim McGraw. But on the second album Fearless that came out in 2008, she was able to discover the person she was and reach a wide audience. The album was hugely successful not only in the United States and six of the singles were certified platinum in the wake of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and You Belong with Me. But the album also enjoyed a great reception across the globe. Speak Now delivered almost two years later and consolidated this popularity and pushed Swift towards the top of stardom. The next three albums she released, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) and Reputation, her popularity increased and she found herself in a world of pop music with a clear sense of where she deserved to be. Although she slowed down her production with folklore, and Evermore released in 2020, she was still at the forefront of pop music.
